SUMMARY
How can storytelling support territorial transition?
This 2024 assessment of the "Mise en récits" learning community (COMAP MER), supported by the Fabrique des transitions and Cerdd, highlights the growing importance of storytelling in territorial dynamics.
Faced with the challenges of ecological, social and economic transition, storytelling appears to be a strategic lever for boosting the sustainable attractiveness of territories. Far from being a simple form of institutional communication, storytelling contributes to building meaningful collective imaginations, strengthening thecommitment of local residents and aligning local players around shared visions.
Through 12 territorial initiatives, the document shows how sincere, co-constructed and embodied narratives can :
- Strengthen territorial identity and cohesion,
- Encourage support for transformation projects,
- Attract new audiences by meeting expectations for meaning and commitment.
Storytelling thus becomes a real driver of transformation, a tool for collective mobilization and a differentiating factor in sustainable attractiveness strategies.
