SUMMARY

This Deloitte survey on Gen Z and the Millennials surveyed 14,483 Gen Z respondents and 8,373 Millennials in 44 countries. The study reveals the impact of the crises of recent years on their lives and opinions, and highlights that while they recognize some positive changes, they remain deeply concerned about their future.

  • Employers have made progress, but the high expectations these generations have of companies remain largely unmet.
  • The high cost of living is a major concern
  • These generations are rethinking the role of work in their lives, and aspire to a better work/life balance.
  • Stress and anxiety levels remain high, and burnout is on the rise.
  • Harassment in the workplace is a major concern, especially for Gen. Z
  • Climate change is a major concern for these generations, but their economic situation makes it harder to prioritize sustainable development
Note : Survey of 14,483 Gen. Z respondents and 8,373 millennials (22,856 respondents in total), from 44 countries in North America, Latin America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific. Self-administered online survey between November 29 and December 25, 2022 & qualitative interviews conducted in March 2023 with 60 people (Gen Z & Millennials) from Brazil, Germany, India, Japan, the UK and the USA.
