SUMMARY
Tourism generates significant economic benefits (in France, 7.3% of GDP in 2017). However, this sector also generates 8% of GHG emissions worldwide, 75% of which are due to transport. Today, tourism stakeholders are striving to better control their impact on the environment and build more sustainable growth.
This study study aims to provide a diagnosis of tourist mobility and quantify a large proportion of the environmental and social externalities generated by tourist travel, on a national scale and for 3 pilot regions: Bretagne, Île-de-France and Occitanie.
