Etude - Jeunes et Entreprises - CCI Saint-Nazaire X Nantes Université

SUMMARY

For several years now, companies in the Loire-Atlantique region have been experiencing recruitment difficulties , both in terms of attracting and retaining skills, with the labor market close to full employment.

Companies are finding it difficult to identify the attitudes of the younger generation, resulting in an often negative perception of them. The CCI Nantes St-Nazaire, in collaboration with Nantes University's Laboratoire de Psychologie des Pays de la Loire, has conducted a study to gain a clearer picture of how young people perceive the world of work. The aim is to align companies' workforce needs with young people's expectations. The study crosses the points of view of business leaders and young people on work and professional integration to better understand their relationship to work and their expectations.

The study was based on a "mirror" questionnaire methodology , enabling us to gather both young people's perceptions, and what employers believe and imagine young people's expectations to be. The survey included both a quantitative component (questionnaire with 1,665 young people and 341 local companies) and a qualitative component (focus groups with 22 young people and 17 employers).
