SUMMARY
The Fédération des élus des Entreprises publiques locales (FedEpl)in partnership with France urbainehas released a publication highlighting the solutions offered by the local semi-public economy and the dynamics underway in urban areas. This document highlights the role played by the 353 local public enterprises - Epl (Sem, Spl and SemOp) - in the development of France's major conurbations, which face numerous demographic, social, environmental and economic challenges.
What sets these Epls apart is their flexibility and ability to adapt to specific local conditions. It's worth noting that urban Epls are growing steadily: almost half of them have been created since 2014, and the trend is accelerating since 2020.
