Livre blanc IA et Tourisme

SUMMARY

This white paper, published by Hauts-de-France Innovation Tourisme (HIT), is an essential strategic resource for decoding the impact of generative artificial intelligence on the tourism ecosystem.

The book explores recent technological mutations, in particular the shift to the agentic era, where AI no longer simply generates content, but becomes capable of acting and making decisions autonomously.

As a preamble, the document offers a brief description of the vocabulary associated with artificial intelligence, enabling us to take a closer look at the associated tourism issues. These include Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), aimed at ensuring the discoverability of destinations in the new search engines, and the use of AI to enhance visual representations while preserving the authenticity of territories. It also proposes a methodology to support the adoption of generative AI within tourism structures. Finally, the book presents a benchmark of 10 concrete use cases in the tourism industry, as well as a case study devoted to a project carried out in the Hauts-de-France region at the Lewarde Mining History Center.
