SUMMARY
The association Acteurs du Tourisme Durable (ATD), in collaboration and with the support of the City of Parishas produced a guide for all tourism professionals (accommodation, visitor sites, destinations, tour operators, etc.). The aim of this publication is to provide a tool for understanding accessibility and inspiring the implementation of practices adapted to customers with special needs. It also provides a better understanding of the issues involved in accessibility in tourism, and a better knowledge of the players to turn to.
"With the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games just a few months away, this guide is thus intended to encourage the transition of tourism professionals on the social side. By understanding the expectations of visitors with special needs and proposing adapted offers, every professional can play an essential role in promoting truly accessible tourism." ATD 2024 Guide to Inclusive Tourism
"The main reason for not going on a leisure trip (at least one night away from home in the past year) is financial. Next come health reasons (17%), which largely concern difficulties in getting around, due to disability, illness or age." (INSEE)
