The health crisis has heightened demand for local, environmentally-friendly tourism, and this is to be welcomed. However, responsible tourism also implies a social and inclusive component .
According to the World Disability Report (2011) by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Bank, over a billion people worldwide live with some form of disability. Taking their needs into account therefore seems essential, and a key factor of attractiveness for destinations whose efforts in this area will certainly be appreciated far beyond their target audiences.
