SUMMARY
The Occ'Ygène card was set up by the Comité Régional du Tourisme et des Loisirs Occitanie and the Occitanie Region as part of the recovery plan operated at the beginning of July 2020 (around 3 million euros) to support the tourism economy, which has been largely impacted by the health crisis. The tourism industry employs 96,500 people in Occitanie, generating 15.9 billion euros in annual sales and 10.3% of regional GDP. The plan focuses on leisure and outdoor activities, with a particular emphasis on local tourism. Renewed for 4 years, the scheme was discontinued in 2024.
