SUMMARY

The COVID19 pandemic is affecting the whole planet: 2 million people are infected and over 140,000 have died. At present, 57% of the world's population is under more or less strict containment measures. The contraction in economic activity is on a scale never seen before in the world, with major impacts on employment and living conditions. In France, measures to support businesses, short-time working and stimulus plans will help cushion the impact. However, the impact is uneven across people, sectors and regions, calling for great vigilance and solidarity.

Local authorities and their agencies are mobilized to address local issues. They are multiplying initiatives to deal with emergencies and prepare for the future. They are demonstrating great agility by being at the origin of, or supporting, the many innovations - technological, social or organizational - and initiatives - public, private or citizen - to meet the challenges of this historic crisis.

This second special report offers a panorama of initiatives (non-exhaustive list) in the fields of economic development, tourism, attractiveness, hospitality, solidarity, culture and events. It also provides useful links for information and tools during the crisis, as well as some food for thought.
