A look back at Autumn School 2017, an event organized in collaboration in partnership with the Povence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region

On October 25, 2017, the first Autumn School organized by the Attractiveness and New Territorial Marketing Chair of the Institute of Public Management and Territorial Governance - Aix-Marseille University (AMU), with the support of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region, was held at the University's headquarters in Le Pharo. The event was opened by Yvon BERLAND, President of AMU, Ludovic PERNEY, Regional Councillor for Youth, and Christophe ALAUX, Director of the IMPGT and the A&NMT Chair. This meeting was the culmination of an original partnership signed between AMU and the PACA Region to co-construct knowledge of the region with all stakeholders, with a view to open science.

The conference brought together over a hundred people from all walks of life (elected representatives, practitioners, business leaders, researchers and students) concerned by the attractiveness of the regions. It was an opportunity to discover the work of students, doctoral students and teacher-researchers exploring this theme from a number of angles: the PACA Region's nuggets, the impact of territorial reform on the strategies of attractiveness players, the image of the Regions in the eyes of the French population, attractiveness and metropolis-Region pairs, the role of technology transfer structures in the attractiveness of territories.

Four roundtables bringing together attractiveness and territorial marketing managers from French regions (Auvergne - Rhône Alpes, Bretagne, Normandie, Nouvelle Aquitaine), Valais (Switzerland), business leaders and support structures provided an opportunity to debate and reflect on each of these issues. The richness of the exchanges and the quality of the speakers were hailed by all.
