SUMMARY

In April 2022, the Association Le Bon Goût Frais des Îles de la Madeleine (BGFIM) launched the "Bouilli d'histoires salées" project, more than 3 years in the making. The aim of the project is to promote the Magdalen Islands (Canada) by highlighting their rich culinary heritage. The name itself is a reminder of Magdalenian culture, since salted meat boiled is a typical dish.

The collaborative and participatory project aims to restore a sense of pride andbelonging to the Madelinots by reminding them of their rich culinary heritage and introducing them to tourists, who are keen on unusual and authentic experiences. The inhabitants and entrepreneurs of the Magdalen Islands were heavily involved in the project. The result was the production of a "culinary primer of identity".
