SUMMARY
The Indonesian village of Kampung Pelangi wasn't exactly a tourist destination. All it took was a facelift in rainbow colors to turn it into an iconic tourist destination for Instagrammers.
Not so long ago, Kampung Pelangi was a shantytown like many others in Indonesia. Overnight, the village took on the colors of the rainbow. Located on the Indonesian island of Java, the village and its 232 inhabitants saw an army of painters arrive to give the village's facades a coat of color.
