SUMMARY

In 2023, France will be the leading destination for foreign direct investment in Europe, ahead of Germany and the UK. With almost 1,200 site creations or extensions, our country is confirming its attractiveness, particularly in the digital technologies (with AI at the forefront),automotive, industrial equipment, logistics, business services andelectronics sectors. These investments are expected to create 40,000 jobs. It's worth noting that 44% of the projects concern industry and 45% rural areas and medium-sized towns.

These figures are complemented by a qualitative survey of foreign-owned company directors, which confirms that France's image has changed : 76% of them believe that its attractiveness will improve over the next few years. The quality and availability of the workforce, the legal and regulatory environment, the quality of infrastructures and the size of the market are differentiating factors.

Although some weaknesses persist, the reforms undertaken (taxation, administrative simplifications), the proactive support policies at local level and the operations to promote our assets and know-how(Choose France, French Tech, Territoires d'Industrie...) seem to be bearing fruit for the fifth year running.
