SUMMARY
In Chicago, an initiative is encouraging residents to give up the " home office " (telecommuting from home) and head downtown to telework in novel coworking spaces and enjoy summer entertainment at the end of the day.
" Work from Summertime Chi "is a campaign devised by Choose Chicago (the Chicago Convention & Visitors Bureau), World Business Chicago (the city's economic development agency) and P33 (a tech sector growth association) and supported by the City of Chicago. It aims to stimulate the local economy by welcoming residents to dozens of inspiring co-working spaces over the three months of summer.
Indeed, like many American metropolises, Chicago is facing profound changes in working patterns brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic: many office spaces now remain empty in the downtown area. Employees prefer to work from their homes, most of which are located on the outskirts of the city. American metropolises now even measure RTO (return-to-office rates).
