SUMMARY
The Greater Paris Metropolis comprises 130 communes with a population of around 7.2 million. It is a mixed syndicate (syndicat mixte) which steers the planning and development project (economy, housing, environment and management of aquatic environments and flood risks). In terms of attractiveness and influence, the metropolis relies on three mechanisms: the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, calls for urban development projects and the "Choose Paris Region" Regional Attractiveness Agency.Choose Paris Region".
