SUMMARY
Inspired by participatory financing platforms, startup Sitta has developed a seasonal rental service that enables homeowners to finance the restoration or improvement of their residence. By booking, holidaymakers finance the project upstream, and can then spend their vacations in renovated premises at lower cost. Participatory tourism" is presented as an alternative to "mass tourism", which accentuates inequalities between territories and often leads to the rejection of local populations.
