Summary

Promoted by the European Commission, is an evolution of Industry 4.0, focusing not only on technology but also on human and environmental values. This type of industrialization is aligned with three of Europe's priorities: European Green Deal, A Europe fit for the digital age and An economy that works for people. While real efforts are being made by companies and public organizations to decarbonize production processes, encourage the circular economy and improve working conditions, Industry 5.0 is still largely conceptual.
