FLASH MARKTERR | Companies: from CSR to CTR

Benchmark Companies and Investors Governance and Partnerships SDG, Transition and Resilience

SUMMARY

In the "Flash markterr", the A&NMT Chair teams identify innovative territorial projects or projects with a positive impact on the challenges of territorial attractiveness. The aim is to provide you with a quick overview of a cross-cutting issue, with examples of inspiring practices in France and abroad. This overview takes the form of synthetic maps to be scrolled in "carousel" mode.

In this FlashMarkterr, we'll be looking at examples of companies using their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy to become more robust, in a world where instability and uncertainty are no longer cyclical but chronic. More and more companies are integrating CSR at both operational and strategic levels, whether to build employee loyalty, give meaning to work and attract talent, secure supplies, reduce costs, protect the environment, meet new standards, improve the social acceptability of their activities or raise financing. Applied at local level (place-based), CSR can be transformed into Corporate Territorial Responsibility (CTR), promoting cooperation with local stakeholders and, consequently, the anchoring of companies. The benefits for both organizations and the place are manifold: better integration of stakeholders, creation of local jobs, maintenance of know-how, consumer loyalty, preservation of biodiversity and resources, outreach, reduction of emissions linked to activities and transport, strengthening of social, cultural and identity ties, and resilience of the supply chain and the local area in the face of shocks and crises.
