SUMMARY
To reduce plastic pollution, which amounts to 564 tonnes of waste per day, the Costa Rican government plans to ban single-use plastics by 2021. Aware that the objective cannot be achieved without the commitment of all stakeholders, the national brand " Esencial Costa Rica " has launched the Rubbish Rubbish project, in partnership with the association Preserve Planet, Universidad Veritas, Tecnológico de Costa Rica and the Costa Rican National Parks Foundation. The campaign involves citizens, researchers and industrialists in identifying sources of pollution (in this case, the over-packaging of everyday consumer products), finding sustainable technical solutions and disseminating them in company processes.
