SUMMARY
At the confluence of new technologies, innovation, open government and civic engagement, " civic tech " has yet to be defined, as it offers a wide variety of services, not always with the same goals in mind. However, against a backdrop of record abstentions from elections, disinterest in politics and mistrust of institutions and elected representatives, the use of these new technologies can be seen as an opportunity to involve more citizens in public decision-making.
